Believe it or not, learning happened:
Two long-term pen pals thought that they should finally meet in person. They decided that they would meet for breakfast at a Denny’s just outside of Chicago, which was essentially equal distance for both.
They found each other in the parking lot, shook hands, complained about traffic, and then proceeded to the entrance of the restaurant. While opening the door, the one guy says to the other, “I LOVE Denny’s!”
Having eaten nearly seven ham sandwiches over the course of two hours, Tom Hanks reckoned he should change his clothes. While choosing a pair of khaki shorts, a pastel pink shirt and matching socks, he suddenly realized that he was late for a big meeting regarding his script for Joe vs. the Volcano II. “Oh NO!” he wailed as he rushed to get changed while the limo politely honked.
In a small bar, in a small town, there sat two ladies in green. They sipped their drinks and played some tunes while two men without eyebrows danced.
Such a cold, cold night, and far from anywhere; they drank and danced and drank.
Here’s two logos I did for a soda company that almost happened. Mike Karnowski, the greatest brewer in the United States, took an awesome job at Green Man Brewery instead. Now he’s on his own, having started his own brewery in Weaverville, North Carolina, which I also got to design the logo for. More on that later . . .
Two album covers I did for the same record… There was also a cassette release, and the songs were also on our “III” boxset courtesy of Sunrise Ocean Bender.
Probably one of my favorite projects: laminates! It doesn’t matter what you do as long as the stage passes look cool; it’s sweet to break away and get-all Orwell/Vonnegut on all-that!
Uff Da! Submission to the 2011 48 Hour Film project.
“Do we need this many pillows?”
“Yes, we need this many pillows!”
This was a poster, logo, and backdrop, and a tShirt, for a Ponderosa Stomp event in 2011 or 12. I remember being uncomfortable with the word, “kill,” regardless the positive connotation. So, but, yeah, I just made GULF COAST SOUL the main message, and left the rest to float to the back without discrediting the heart of the message and event.
